Graphic design and pastries

In the world of pastry the two top things are the looks and the taste, but I think the most important thing is the looks because that's the first thing that a customer sees it and if they like the taste of it they will come back.

Part of this looks goes to the branding and the packing of a business, its fundamental to have a great and functional design a nice box who “tells” the costumer why they need to buy the cake, the cookies, etc.

I know people who feel sorry to throw the box of a cake, like they are really nice boxes.

This is why it's so important to have a logo, a sign, a box who sells not only your stories also to sell your values, the professionalism and passion with which they do all this.Knowing this, What do you like most about pastry shops?

Case study for a Makeup artist

Last post I talk about how is the process in general, but in this post I would take you over the process I do for the creation of a brand for a makeup artist.

After the lovely Lesly chooses a type of font, color, style, etc. I started making some "drafts" of what kind of font could get better for the taste of Lesley and in a way can connect with her audience (her clients).

Here I'm trying a few similar and different fonts.

Now I start adding different color combination.

With this sketch I show them to my client and we talk over, here is when she told me to put an icon of lashes so I started searching for inspiration and finally start using this style.

After changing and moving colors and fonts I came to this final stage I turn on over Lesly and she decide for the option 3 but she wants it a little change.

And finally I made those little changes and this is the final result.

The journey of building a brand

First I ask what can of type they have in mind, because they re different types of “logos” as we call them.

If the client has a like to certain logos in the same industry as them or any other, this help me having a sense of what they want.

Knowing what type of clients they have is important to decide certain looks that attract to more young audience or more adult.

Then i show case them with a few color palettes and types of font that could work with their theme of the logo

When all of this is sort it out, I start sketching, some time i do it on paper but most of the times i start directly on the computer, once i finished three or four sketches i show them to the client for changes or approvals they want to keep on the final one.
